Buyer's note. Shopify is a mainstream ecommerce platform. In party-plan / direct selling it usually plays the storefront and checkout role while a specialist back office owns genealogy and commissions. Several back-office vendors publish Shopify connectors.
Ask in diligence
- Which system is the source of truth for inventory (Shopify or the back office)
- How consultant / host / party attribution is stamped on orders
- What happens to hostess credit and kit BOMs across systems
- App stack risk (too many apps vs one clear path)
Shopify is not a commission engine. It works well as the storefront once you've written down how orders get credited to consultants and hosts.
