What the numbers say

Malaysia is the growth story among the large markets. It ranks fifth in the world by sales, per WFDSA, and has the strongest three-year trend of the five markets on this site, at 9% a year. WFDSA's Global Statistics page lists it among the biggest movers up in 2024, and the STATS release calls it an emerging player in Asia-Pacific.

The representative count jumped almost 20% in one year, to more than 9.6 million, far faster than sales grew. More people joined than the sales growth alone would suggest, so sales per representative fell.

Wellness is almost half of member sales, and household durables a quarter. The sales force is 60% women, lower than every other top 10 market except Germany, among those WFDSA reports gender for. For party-plan brands, Malaysia is a wellness-led market with a fast-growing field, which makes onboarding, training, and clear product claims worth getting right early.

Association

The national association is the Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM).
